Fort Myers Police want to question a high-profile political candidate in connection with a deadly hit and run.

According to NBC2, police believe Dan Sinclair might have information about the hit and run that left an 18 year old dead.

Sinclair is running for Lee County Supervisor of Elections and uses social media a lot to campaign for office.

Sources close to the investigation told NBC2 Sinclair made a post the day of the deadly hit and run and it is raising attention.

It has since been removed but this is what it said:

The post was made on June 19th and Sinclair said he was drinking beer at Twin Peaks restaurant and bar as part of the mini bar crawl.

Eyewitnesses said Sinclair tagged Adam Costello in it. Costello’s truck is the vehicle believed to have hit the victim.

This is not the first time Sinclair has been surrounded by controversy. He was questioned by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement during an investigation. Also in April NBC2 found porn links on Sinclair’s campaigns Twitter account. He removed them.

Whereas the Fort Myers Police Department does not think Sinclair was involved in the hit and run, they do believe he may have information that could help them solve the case.
