As I expected, Senator Marco Rubio’s run for re-election to the U.S. Senate has forced Republican senatorial candidate Rep. Ron DeSantis to run for re-election to his congressional seat.

With DeSantis running for re-election, it instantly makes him the favorite to win a contested GOP primary race. There are several formidable and capable Republican congressional candidates invested in winning DeSantis’ seat, including Rubio’s former staffer Brandon Patty, state Rep. Fred Costello, and businessman Pat Mooney.
