U.S. Representative Corrine Brown, (FL-D) has dropped an appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court according to a document filed by her attorney’s.
The move came about two months ago after a three-judge panel in the U.S. District Court rejected Brown’s challenge to her redrawn district. This also came two days after Brown qualified to run this year in the new Congressional District 5.On April 25 Brown’s attorneys filed a notice of appeal with the U.S. Supreme Court but said in the document Wednesday that they had not filed what is known as a “jurisdictional statement” and that the case had not been docketed at the Supreme Court.

Brown is a 11-term Democrat in Congress. This week she qualified to run for reelection. Democrat Al Lawson has also qualified and Democrat LaSonda Holloway has until noon on Friday to complete her qualifying. Glo Smith, a Republican is also running against Brown and has already qualified.
