Ron DeSantis is ramping up, as six make up the field of GOP hopefuls participated in the Volusia County Republican Party hob nob poll held at the Daytona International Speedway.
Head of the local GOP, Tony Ledbetter said that roughly 350 people were in attendance at the event, and of the 251 straw-poll votes taken, state Rep. Fred Costello garnered 28.7 percent of the vote.

Costello narrowly beat out real-estate broker G.G.Galloway, who came away with 26 percent, and Brandon Patty, a U.S. Navy reservist, who also managed to creep into the 20 percent bracket with 22.7 percent of the vote.
State Rep. David Santiago got about 17 percent, while fundraiser Patrick Mooney was only able to grab 5 percent from the GOP grassroots crowd.
