With the U.S. southern border with Mexico garnering all of theĀ national and border security attention, it appears as if Americans have forgotten about that pourous northern border with Canada, ah.
Oh, Canada!I can see how many people could perceive the northern border as not being as sexy as the “El Chapo” crime-ridden, drug-smuggling, and gun smuggling southern border with Mejico (Mexico in Espanol).
But now U.S. Border Patrol Division Chief Bradley Curtis is sounding the alarm along the border with Canada.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Remember, the U.S.-Canada border includes 13 states and stretches more than 5,000 miles.
Curtis cited one security concern in particular: Canadaās āopen door policyā for Syrian refugees.āUp here weāre encountering people from every single country,ā Curtis said. āTheyāre coming across on snowmobiles. Theyāre coming across on ATVs. ⦠We have 95 miles of water boundaries, so people come across on boat, canoes, anything you can think of.ā
Along with Curtis, Border Patrol operations officer Brad Brandt “added to Curtisā worries, saying that border agents have seen āillegal alien smuggling, narcotic smuggling and currency smuggling.ā
In the past year alone, roughly 10,000 pounds of marijuana and millions of dollars in illegal currency were seized by federal agents at the northern border, according to WLNY.
Oh, and there is a drug smuggling problem along the northern U.S. border.
Michael Laravia, an agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration, said that, in addition, āthere is a significant amount of violenceā associated with drugs coming into the U.S.
