On Friday Governor Rick Scott signed into law a bill that provides additional options for veterans and service members to earn college credit. It also helps Purple Heart recipients and other distinguished military members receive tuition waivers.
In addition Scott signed a separate bill that allows active-duty military members serving the United States and abroad to pay in-state tuition and fees.Scott said:
As a Navy veteran myself, I am proud today to sign these important measures into law to support Florida’s brave military members and veterans. By making it easier for military men and women to earn college degrees, we are giving more of our nation’s heroes the opportunity to better themselves while showing gratitude for the sacrifices they have made.
