Even as ludicrous as this may sound to many Republican activists and talking heads, but Jeb Bush could be making a comeback in the 2016 GOP presidential primary race, and make the New Hampshire primary the key to his success.
Like Governor Chris Christie, who has also fallen from grace, Jeb Bush is seeing a slight and positive movement in the polling being conducting in the Granite state.New Hampshire could be Bush’s last stand.
Trump is still trouncing everyone, and his political protégé Marco Rubio is in virtual tie for second place with Senator Ted Cruz and Christie.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Bush, who is in fourth place behind Kasich, but still showing some signs of life, is directly challenging Trump to a one-on-one debate.
But while this seems like tough talk, is it really?
Here is what Bush said at the Forum Club in West Palm Beach, Florida:“Donald, I’ll take you on one-on-one in a debate, any time, any place…You name it and I’ll do it.”
Instead of Bush sounding assertive and telling Trump where and when he would want to debate the real estate mogul, Bush submissively left it up to Trump to “name” the location, and asserted that he would do as he was told.
Pretty weak.
Because Rubio is pealing donors and supporters away from him, Bush needs to take on Rubio and not Trump.
But if he does go after Rubio again, what price will Bush have to pay for doing so?I don’t see anyone besting Trump in the polls, aside from Ted Cruz, who as tied him in a couple of them. That said, Bush needs to be aiming for a second or third place finish in all of the early voting states leading up to Florida.
If he doesn’t place well, his presidential campaign is over.
Or is it already over?
