Arguably the individual Republicans hate the most in the Democratic Party is Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D).
Wasserman Schultz, who reins over the Democratic-heavy 23rd congressional district in south Florida, is controversial to say the least, and while Republicans and some Independents dream of a Congress-free ‘DWS,’ there is a fat chance in hell that that is ever going to happen. One good Republican, and many other not-so-good Republicans have tried to topple her from the Democratic Party leadership in Washington, D.C., but all have failed.
Debbie isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
But can all this change in the 2016 election cycle?
Douglas Hughes of Ruskin, Florida, who also happens to be a registered Democrat, has filed to run for Congress against Wasserman Schultz.
Good luck with that.Wait, you are probably wondering why I am making such a big deal about some no-name Democrat who is dumb enough to primary challenge Queen Wasserman Schultz, right?
Turns out Hughes is quite the celebrity and public figure.
Remember “that guy” who was arrested for flying his gyrocopter through restricted airspace over the Capital earlier this year?
Well, that was Hughes.
While Hughes has agreed to plead guilty to a felony, and will face sentencing in 2016, there is nothing written in the U.S. Constitution preventing him from seeking federal elected office, this according to the Associated Press.
