Bernie Sanders campaign is being blamed for accessing Hillary Clinton’s private voter data. The breach was said to have occurred after a software problem at the technology company NGP VAN. That company gives campaigns access to voter data as reported by the New York Times.
Apparently when there was a problem proprietary voter data of Clinton’s campaign was made visible to others. The Sanders campaign stated they fired a staff member who breached Clinton’s data but according to three people who have direct knowledge of the incident there were four user accounts associated with the Sanders campaign who ran searches while Clinton’s data was compromised. For those unfamiliar with voter databases they are very crucial to campaigns and include information from voters across the nation. They are used by campaigns to set strategy, especially in the early voting states.
To discipline Bernie Sanders the Democratic National Committee has now suspending his campaign’s access to the voter database.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
The decision to suspend Sanders comes one day before he has to debate Hillary Clinton on Saturday.
Mr. Sanders’s campaign spokesman, Michael Briggs, has blamed the vendor for continuing to make errors.
He said:On more than one occasion, the vendor has dropped the firewall between the data of different Democratic campaigns. Our campaign months ago alerted the D.N.C. to the fact that campaign data was being made available to other campaigns. At that time our campaign did not run to the media, relying instead on assurances from the vendor.
Unfortunately, yesterday, the vendor once again dropped the firewall between the campaigns for some data. After discussion with the D.N.C. it became clear that one of our staffers accessed some modeling data from another campaign. That behaivor is unacceptable and that staffer was immediately fired.
