If you watched the recent CNN Republican presidential debate in Las Vegas like I did (I was actually there :P) you saw Senators Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz go toe-to-toe on national security and immigration reform, as well as Trump dismissing Jeb Bush’s candidacy, but that is for another story.
Cruz got the best of Rubio on immigration, after all, there isn’t much Rubio can do to argue against the fact that he sided with President Obama and Senator Chuck Schumer (D) in serving up what Ted Cruz and many other conservatives call an amnesty for illegal immigrants Senate bill.As far as who won the exchange on foreign policy, both Cruz and Rubio managed to score jabs and body blows against the other, but in the end, Rubio seem to edge out Cruz.
Rand Paul even got into the mix by saying that Rubio was “the weakest” of all the candidates on national defense for his “weak” border security position.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Appearing on Fox News yesterday morning, Rubio made some very poignant accusations against Cruz about his voting record on national defense and security, including stating that he sided “with every liberal group in America” when he voted in favor of the USA Freedom Act.
One of Rubio’s personal friends in the U.S. Senate, Mike Like, has just come out against Rubio’s attack against the USA Freedom Act.
“Look, Marco Rubio has been attacking Ted Cruz on the USA Freedom Act, for his vote in favor of the USA Freedom Act, and he’s been doing so by suggesting that this has somehow made America less safe… “It simply is not true, and look, I’m really good friends with both of these guys, I really like both of them, but Marco’s wrong on this.”- Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) Boston Herald Radio (Buzz)
Cruz has countered by pointing out that in less than four minutes, Rubio stated “ten falsehoods” about Cruz’s voting record.
This could be painful.
Rubio’s accusations are numbered and in bold text. Cruz’s counter follows.
