wwwMany Republican presidential candidates have said they are against Common Core but only a few have signed a petition to repeal it. The only candidate who supports Common Core is its grandfather, the creator of it: Jeb Bush.
As reported by the Sunshine State News even though Donald Trump, Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz all say they are against Common Core, the only candidate to sign the petition to repeal it was Ted Cruz.Credit: Sunshine State News
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
The pledge states Ted Cruz will oppose any federal efforts to mandate, impose or influence standards, assessments or curriculm in the United States.
Florida Parents Against Common Core (FPACC) created the pledge and they asked all of the Republican presidential candidates at the Sunshine Summit to sign it.
FPACC released the following statement:As the Republican Party of Florida begins its Sunshine Summit, Senator Cruz’s pledge provides needed leadership on the critical issue of education that so impacts the many residents and students of the State of Florida.
Cruz’s support does not come as a surprise because earlier on this year at an event in Florida he told us exclusively during an interview:
We need to stand up against common core and stop it.
The question now is: if everyone else is against Common Core, why didn’t they sign the pledge?
