Donald Trump said his first introduction to presidential politics was in 1988 when Bush’s political adviser Lee Atwater approached him about becoming Vice President.
During an interview on Sunday on State of the Union, CNN said Trump made the confession about Bush. Trump stated Atwater was “a great guy and an absolute friend, and he did ask me about it and say, ‘Would you at all consider it?'”Trump said that was the last time the two talked about it. Trump told him:
I don’t know, Lee. Check it out, take a look at it, and if it works, I guess I would certainly consider it. But it never really went much further than that.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
A new biography of George H.W. Bush authored by Jon Meacham reveals the same. Meacham said Bush knew Trump was interested in becoming Vice President.
During the interview Trump also discussed Marco Rubio’s finances, Ben Carson violent past and how he would handle ISIS if he was president.
