When the top two 2016 Republican presidential candidates threaten to boycott the upcoming Oct. 28 debate, because of the formatting, or for whatever reason, organizers of the event better take heed.
Dr. Ben Carson and Donald Trump penned a joint letter to debate hosts CNBC, stating that they would not be attending the debate, if the event was not held to two hours.CNN held the second GOP debate last month in California, and was widely criticized for dragging it out for three hours.
CNBC has also scheduled their debate for three hours, but that is not going to fly with Trump, Carson, and I am sure that sentiment is share by other candidates.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
CNBC says that they will be taking Trump and Carson’s letter into consideration, but stressed that the reason for having such a long debate was because they wanted to air “the most substantive debate possible.”
Well, CNBC better make some edits to its debate format because if they don’t, the GOP soire will become nothing more than a second tier debate, and could possibly lead to other candidates like Ted Cruz and Carly Fiorina to skip it.
I can see Donald Trump telling CNBC officials, “You’re fired!”
