U.S. Senate candidate Rep. David Jolly (R) appeared on NewsmaxTV to discuss his support for Rep. Daniel Webster in the upcoming election to chose the next Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Sticking by his support of Webster, Jolly seemed to hedge his bet a bit, in speaking about the possibility that Rep. Paul Ryan (R) may enter the race for speaker.Paul Ryan is an incredible leader in our party, he’s an intellectual giant, he can carry the message on behalf of Republicans. I think Paul Ryan is one candidate, who possibly, can get to a unanimous vote in the Speaker’s race. I don’t think anyone else in Congress can do that today.-Rep. David Jolly (R) NewsmaxTV
If Ryan enters the race, would Jolly be part of that unanimous vote in favor of the former Republican vice presidential nominee?
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Jolly is currently considered the frontrunner in the all-but-forgotten Senate Republican primary race in Florida.
Rep. Ron DeSantis, who trails Jolly by a few percentage points in the latest polls, is considered the conservative favorite in the race, while Lt. Governor Carlos Lopez-Cantera and businessman Todd Wilcox round out the group.
Both Jolly and Webster are expected to lose their respective congressional seats in the latest round of redistricting.
