The attack against the confederate flag still continues.
On Thursday a Senate committee unanimously recommended that the Confederate flag be removed from the Florida Senate’s official seal.According to the Tampa Bay Times, the vote came with no opposition from the bipartisan panel even though the confederate flag is not the only flag on the seal. It also includes the five flags that have flown over Florida in the past so removing the confederate flag from the seal will also remove a part of Florida’s history. It’s just an attempt to erase that part of it but no one can erase history.
The seal was created in 1972 and has been the chamber’s insignia ever since.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Senate Rules Chairman David Simmons (R-Altamonte Springs) argues including the flag being included along side the array of other flags is historically inaccurate. That didn’t make any sense.
This all started after Democratic Leader Arthenia Joyner of Tampa said she discovered the flag on the seal. She said:
Many of us were not aware of, or had not paid much attention to, the seal to discern which flags were included in it. Immediately upon discovering it, I felt it necessary at this time.
Essentially they are on a confederate flag witch hunt in an effort to remove it from Florida’s history.
