Even as the recent Florida Chamber of Commerce poll shows Senator Marco Rubio continuing to trail Donald Trump in his home state of Florida, Rubio continues to creep up in all the national polls, where he finds himself in a solid 5th place among all the current 2016 Republican presidential candidates.
After Gov. Scott Walker bowed out of the race, another primary Rubio is leading is the race to recieve the support from billionaire casino baron, Sheldon Adelson.Rubio is making a strong push to garner the Republican Jewish American vote, hitting up board members of the Republican Jewish Coalition for campaign donations. Several of the board members are hosting a fundraiser for Rubio this week in New York City.
Here is what the Jewish Insider reported:
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio is expected to come to New York on Wednesday, October 14, to attend a high-dollar fundraiser headlined by several Republican Jewish Coalition board members.
The event is hosted by Phil Rosen at his offices on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan and costs $1,000 per person or $2,700 for a hosting role, according to the invitation obtained by Jewish Insider. Ben Heller, a philanthropist from Lawrence, NY, is signed on as a co-host.
Rosen, a co-chair of Weil Gotshal’s real estate practice, officially endorsed Rubio and signed on as a foreign policy advisor for the campaign in late June. He is one of the leading bundlers in presidential politics. According to two sources, it is believed that Rosen raised around $5 million for Mitt Romney in 2012. Rosen is also close with Sheldon Adelson, with whom he serves on the boards of the Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) and Birthright Israel.Oy Vey!
Can Rubio win over enough of these Jewish donors to really make a difference once it is time to vote for who will be the next Republican presidential nominee?
