Former President Jimmy Carter, has cancer. He is the longest living president thus far at 90 years old.
He announced on Wednesday earlier on this month he had surgery to remove a small mass from his liver and that surgery revealed the cancer had spread to other parts of his body.
Carter’s family has a history of pancreatic cancer per CNN but it is unclear where his cancer started. His father, brother and two sisters passed away from the disease. His mother also passed away from breast cancer that moved to her pancreas.
He said he will be receiving treatment at Emory University in Atlanta and will release more information soon.
