Florida lawmakers launched another bid on Monday to redraw the congressional map and they were not thrilled.
They returned to the Capitol for a 12-day special session to redraw the map which would make it difficult for several incumbent members of Congress to get re-elected as reported by the Associated Press.U.S. Representative Corrine Brown (FL-D) was so mad state legislators made significant changes to her district she filed a lawsuit but it was withdrawn on Monday.
Brown complained her new district does not contain enough minorities and African-Americans would lose political representation if the new map is adopted. Some saw her comments as being very racist.

In July the Florida Supreme Court gave state legislators 100 days to redraw the map.
Since then several GOP leaders have came out and said they strongly disagree with the court.
House Speaker Steve Crisafulli said:Let me be clear: We continue to believe that we drew a constitutional map in 2012 and again in 2014. But the fact remains that this Legislature has been ordered to redraw the map. We have a constitutional responsibility to comply with the court’s order, whether we personally agree with it or not.
