Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has been disinvited from attending the annual Redstate Gathering in Atlanta, GA. Redstate honcho Erick Erickson told me mid-afternoon on Friday that Trump would indeed be allowed to speak at a rally organized by the conservative blog, against the wishes of some Republicans in attendance.
Trump upset a few establishment types after he jabbed back at Fox News’ Megyn Kelly, but only after she, and the other debate moderators, targeted Trump for character assassination.Later in the day, Erickson made his decision to boot Trump after the billionaire made this questionable and perceived offensive remark against Kelly on CNN:
“You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes. Blood coming out of her — wherever.”
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Trump’s team said their boss meant to say “whatever,” not “wherever.”
Decency is one of those lines. He is not a professional politician and is known for being a blunt talker. He connects with so much of the anger in the Republican base and is not afraid to be outspoken on a lot of issues. But there are even lines blunt talkers and unprofessional politicians should not cross.- Erick Erickson, Redstate
As much as I do personally like Donald Trump, his comment about Megyn Kelly on CNN is a bridge too far for me.
The remark can be construed by some as being a tasteless so-called Republican “War on Women” hormonal attack.
Should Americans give Trump the benefit of the doubt here?
Trump is Trump, and even though he is known for saying off the all things, did he really stoop as low as to offend every all women, including his wife and daughter?
