On Monday, the South Carolina Senate voted 37-3 to take down the Confederate flag on Statehouse grounds.
Ever since the shooting deaths of eight people at a Charleston Church on June 17th the Confederate flag has been under fire. The shooter was seen in a video waiving the flag and professing he was a white supremacist even though the Confederate flag has little to nothing to do with racism.Last week we reported the hatred has trickling over to confederate monuments as well. Across the country protestors and lawmakers want confederate monuments to be removed. Several monuments in Florida are at jeopardy as well. Protestors have even went so far to suggest Jacksonville should change its name because the city was named after Andrew Jackson.
Even though the Senate voted to remove it, the state House has yet to vote.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
They are set to reconvene on Tuesday for a third procedural vote on removing the flag. The legislation needs a two-thirds majority in the state House to pass. Prior surveys have shown there is enough support to get it done.
