“The toughest” member of the House freshman class of 2010, according to the New York Times, is back on the campaign trail. Former Congresswoman Sandy Adams (R) has formally announced her candidacy in Florida’s 6th congressional district race.
Yes Florida, this “One Tough Grandma,” or for some of you Spanish-speaking folks, “One Tough Abuela,” is looking to pick up where she left off in the U.S. Congress.Adams lost her 2012 Republican primary race to Rep. John Mica (R), who after that year’s redistricting process, decided to challenge Adams instead of running in his own district.
But with Rep. Ron DeSantis (R) having decided to run for U.S. Senator Marco Rubio’s seat, instead of re-election, his congressional seat is up for grabs, and Adams was quick to seize the opportunity of running in a very Republican-leaning seat.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
So just how tough is this grandma? (“One Tough Grandma is actually Adams’ campaign slogan-see website)
Many of you may or may not remember her epic grilling of then-Attorney General Eric Holder over the disastrous Fast & Furious. Well here is the infamous “You don’t dictate” exchange between Adams and Holder (It really gets dicey around 2:25):
With a 85% rating from the Club For Growth, as well as some other high marks she has received while a member of the U.S. Congress, it will be very difficult for any of her 2016 Republican congressional primary challenger to best these numbers. (Source)
