The every-so-colorful Democrat Congressman Alcee Hastings, just finished making his case for why members of Congress needed to get a raise in pay, all while millions of Americans are currently struggling just to put food on the table.
Apparently, his $174,000 a year salary is not enough.This video of Hastings complaining about how he and his fellow colleagues in the U.S. Congress “deserve” a pay raise, and how the absence of a pay increase is “causing serious problems” for those Americans looking to serve in public office, is priceless.
They (federal judges) left us in the position, of, in order for us to get a raise, we have to go to the public and prove that we deserve it. Well, I think we do, I think that everyone man and woman that comes her deserves it.

Maybe Alcee needs to follow the lead of some of his other colleagues in the House, and set up a fold out bed in his office? Why not?I will say it until I leave, that members deserve to be paid. Staff deserve to be paid, and the cost of living here (D.C.) is causing serious problems for people who are not wealthy to be able to serve in this (Congress) institution.
