Freshly minted Republican Rep. Carlos Curbelo has picked up the Democrat mantra of “equality, and has flexed his same-sex marriage muscles by telling government to stay out of the way when it comes to gay marriage.

While I don’t expect Curbelo to walk around shirtless and wear daisy duke shorts at the next gay pride parade in Key West (I really hope not), why shouldn’t Curbelo try to make nice with the gay community? After all, the gay Mecca known as Key West, Florida, does so happen to be nestled in his congressional district.
Why shouldn’t gay couples be afforded the same opportunity to get married and then lose half of their assets as everyone else does when they get divorced?Dale!
