The Senate passed a bill entitled “All-American Flag Act” on Wednesday in a 28-1 vote that would require all Florida city, county and state government agencies must buy state and American flags made in the United States.
The All-American Flag Act bill states:When the state, a county, or municipality purchases a United States flag or a state flag for public use, the flag must be made in the United States from articles, materials, or supplies, all of which are grown, produced, and manufactured in the United States.
The House already passed the bill last month and now the bill is on Governor Rick Scott’s desk waiting to be signed into law. If signed, it will become effective January 1, 2016.

During the debate on the bill, Democratic Senator Jeff Clemens took the opportunity to criticize the House for adjourning early and letting significant bills die.
The Senate has since remained in session and is passing bills previously passed by the House as well as some of their own even though they know the House will bot be voting on them.
