We can confirm that Senator Marco Rubio is running for president in 2016. Rubio for president banners and signs have already been put into position at the Miami Freedom Tower where Rubio will make his big announcement late Monday afternoon.
Just yesterday (Sunday), we floated the possiblility that Rubio may really be running for the U.S. Senate because the Federal Elections Commission (FEC) had him stated as a “incumbent” that was running for re-election to the Senate in 2016.We knew all along that Rubio was running for president, as several close amigos and confidants had already let the political gato (cat in Espanol) of the bag.
Naturally, the story had readers thinking that this could be a real possibility, considering that it would be a tough haul for Rubio to win the Republican nomination for president when former Governor Jeb Bush formally jumps into the race.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
The two men will essentially be vying for donations and support from the same base of support.
But as Bush has been sucking up all the low-lying GOP dollars, Rubio’s support by grassroots activists over Jeb Bush is overwhelming. No one, expect for establishment GOP types and loyalist want Jeb Bush to be the Republican presidential nominee.
Rubio’s biggest challenge nationwide will most likely come from another grassroots favorite, Texas Senator Ted Cruz. With his presidential announcement on Monday, Rubio will join his fellow “wacko birds” Ted Cruz and Senator Rand Paul as the only announced Republican presidential candidates thus far.
Yes, even though Senator John McCain did not call Rubio a “wacko bird”, Florida’s junior senator is part of the Senate “wacko bird” squadron. Aside from immigration reform, Rubio has been completely in-line with Senator Ted Cruz on all of the issues, including his epic Senate floor filibuster, where Rubio lent Cruz some much-needed relief during his epic 21-hour address.
The GOP has a very deep presidential bench. This 2016 Republican presidential primary will be like no other previous contest.
See you all in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, oh, and Florida!
