The Tampa Bay Times reported on Wednesday Jeb Bush played an active role in former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s charity Bloomberg Philanthropies. Bush played so much of an active role he was on the charities board.
Bloomberg Philanthropies is well known for funding some very left-leaning initiatives including partnering with Planned Parenthood and helping the Sierra Club with global warming projects per their records.Bush’s spokeswoman who seems to be more on damage control in recent months, Kristy Campbell had the following to say about Bush’s involvement with the charity:
Governor Bush was honored to serve on the board of Bloomberg Philanthropies, which does a lot of good work across the world. Governor Bush and Mayor Bloomberg have a great mutual respect for another. While they disagree on several policy issues, both share a passion for improving education in America.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Bloomberg’s spokeswoman, Meghan Womack confirmed Bush worked on the charities board. He joined Bloomberg Philanthropies in 2010 and stepped down at the end of 2014.
Some of the charities initiatives have Bush supporters and foes alike scratching their heads as to why a 2016 GOP contender would of joined the board. They include:
– 2011: The charity awarded $50 million to the Sierra Club’s Beyond Coal campaign. Sierra Club’s objective was to close “dirty” coal plants and reduce carbon emissions.– 2014: The charity launched a $50 million dollar reproductive health program that would “help more women freely and safely make decisions about when to have children.”
It seems like Jeb Bush has a lot of questionable things in his closet and I have a feeling there is more to come.
One question that comes to mind is: if Bush becomes President does that mean he is going to join forces with Michael Bloomberg and ban soda consumption across the United States?
