Kansas Governor Sam Brownback signed into law on Tuesday legislation that bans second-term abortions. It is the first of its kind in the United States and Kansas is getting a lot of attention both from abortion activists and pro-lifers.
Planned Parenthood of Kansas lashed out by saying its the latest in a series of:extreme political measures aimed at denying women access to health care and at undermining their decision-making ability.
Governor Brownback does not seemed to be bothered by the advocacy group. He called the abortion measures “dismemberment abortion” and further defines it as:

The new law does not give a specific time frame that would limit when an abortion can occur, instead it bans the dilation and evacuation process that is commonly used during the second trimester of pregnancy. It does allow the procedure to be used if it is needed to protect the life or health of the mother.
Governor Brownback took to Twitter saying he was proud to sign the new law:protecting life at its most vulnerable stage.
Both sides seem ready to take their fight to court which should be expected in the upcoming months.
