After announcing that he was running for president in 2016, the WSJ has reported that theTed Cruz for President campaign have themselves reported that it has raised a whopping $4 million in just eight days.
While Jeb Bush is sucking up all the moderate-establishment money from the Republican electorate, Cruz’s grassroots Kirby vacuum cleaner seems to be working on overdrive and taking in mass amounts of donations from all around the country. What is most telling about Cruz’s 2016 fundraising prowess, is where a lot of these donations are coming. In the first day of announcing his presidential candidacy, Cruz raised $1 million. Much of that money came from the coveted I-4 corridor of central Florida, which is considered Rubio country.
But while Cruz supporters are all giddy about their candidate’s early campaign fundraising windfall, there are still other GOP presidential candidates, who can raise a lot of cash, that haven’t yet announced their presidential bids.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
The one big name that is expected to receive just as much grassroots and fundraising support is Florida Senator Marco Rubio, who will be announcing his presidential bid on April 13 in Miami, Florida.
Rubio has proven to be a prolific fundraiser, raising several million dollars for his Reclaim America PAC in 2014, but has also showed donors that he is just as prolific a spender of those same fundraising dollars.
During 2014, Rubio spent well over $ 1 million of the $3 million+ his PAC raised to pay high-priced political consultants.I, like many others who are paying attention, are wondering why his PAC spent tens of thousands of dollars every month on salaries.
Regardless, of monies raised and spent by any of the 2016 Republican presidential candidates, this race- within-a-race between Cruz and Rubio will undoubtedly bring out the best discussion about American principles and values that this country has ever seen.
Bet on that.
