Hillary Clinton’s emails may be deleted but they are not forgotten. POLITICO broke the story after they interviewed half a dozen computer forensics experts.

Just because Clinton deleted the emails it does not mean they are not still on her server. The only problem is retrieving them could be time intensive and expensive.

Last Friday, Clinton’s attorney David Kendall wrote to the Benghazi Committee declining to turn over her hard drive and saying her emails had been deleted. He also said the ones deleted were personal in nature.

That letter came after the Benghazi Committee asked for the server to be turned over to an independent third party for examination.

This is not the first time in recent history Democrats have tried to use computer mishaps to get out of facing hard questions. Back in 2011 when the IRS was suspected of targeting conservative groups, Lois Lerner’s hard drive was deemed damaged beyond repair and was destroyed. We found out years later the IRS technician working on her hard drive was blind, the hard drive was merely scratched and it could have been repaired.

One must wonder if Democrats are opting to take the heat for “destroyed” hard drives or “deleted” emails instead of getting caught for their wrongdoing.

Computer experts are saying permanent deletion is extremely difficult to achieve. Servers nowadays are designed to preserve emails just in case they are needed in a lawsuit or if a business executive accidentally deletes them.

In regards to Hillary Clinton, in 2013 House Republican investigators formally subpoenaed all correspondence related to the attack. Clinton did not reveal she was using a personal email server at that time and she obviously did not hand over what she had.

The question now in Clinton’s case is did she personally delete the emails or did she hire an expert to do it for her? That is the difference that will determine if her emails are recoverable and the sooner the panel gets her server the better because that will limit the damage.
