Once again someone sent a suspicious package to the White House. This time it was an envelope that contained cyanide per the Secret Service.
Secret Service spokesman Bryan Leary released the following statement:On Monday 3/16/15, an envelope was received at the White House Mail Screening Facility. Initial Biological testing was negative, however, on 3/17/15, the chemical testing returned a presumptive positive for cyanide. The sample was transported to another facility to confirm the results.
He further noted there was an ongoing investigation and at this time the Secret Service has no additional comments.

As for the sender, he apparently has a long history with the Secret Service that dated back to 1995. It is said he previously sent a package covered in urine and feces.
In regards to the most recent package, no one was injured and there were no exposure concerns for the employee that opened the letter.
There was an alert reported by the Intercept that alerted staff of the incident. It read:An envelope containing an unknown milky substance, in a container wrapped in a plastic bag, received at the White House Mail Screening Facility, tested positive for cyanide.
