Representative Candice Miller (MI-R), 60 years old, said she will not be seeking reelection. Her retirement opens a spot in the Republican leaning district in suburban Detroit.
Miller released the following statement:People of faith, people of family, people of community. Hard working people, decent people, patriots who are constantly engaged in building our community, our state, a stronger nation. . . This is the community that I love, that I call home, and at the conclusion of my current term in office, I will be coming home.
She was originally elected to Congress in 2002 after serving two terms as Michigan secretary of state. Currently she is the chair of the House Administration Committee and the only GOP female committee chairman.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
As for her future, Miller did not advise what she would be doing when she retires. She only said:
Miller also advised she will not be endorsing a new candidate but she will gladly pass them the baton.None of us know what the future will bring, but I hope God grants me grace to continue to give back to this magnificent place we call Michigan.
