Per NewsMax, Al Sharpton, Comcast and Time Warner are being sued by the National Association of African-America Owned Media (NAAAOM) and Entertainment Studios for discrimination. They are asking for $20 billion in damages.
The complaint states the media giants bought protection from Sharpton and other black advocacy groups against claims of racial discrimination.NAAAOM is run by Mark DeVitre who is a former lawyer for Warner Brothers. DeVitre also previously served as general counsel for Entertainment Studios.
The suit was filed in California seeking $20 billion dollars in damages. The NAAAOM is stating even though there were billions of dollars in investments, the Africa Channel is the only channel carried by the companies that is owned by African Americans.

Also even thought there was really low ratings, MSNBC kept Sharpton on as host of one of their programs. It is alleged MSNBC kept Sharpton on for continued public support for Comcast and for diversity even though the cable giant was paying him $750,000 a year.
Byron Allen, a co-plantiff and owner of Entertainment Studios told the New York Post:
The black community has been sold out by him. . . Al Sharpton should be ashamed of himself for defending Comcast for a simple chicken-dinner payoff.
Sharpton has called the suit “frivolous at best.” He said he would welcome the suit.
