The non released pages are thought to suggest that high-level officials in Saudi Arabia were complicit in the 2001 attacks.
Currently Members of Congress can view the additional pages by writing the House Intelligence Committee and asking. The Intelligence panel’s chairman, Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) has said the committee allowed more than 30 requests from colleagues to view the papers in the 113th Congress. Eight more requests were recently approved on Wednesday as well.
Lawmakers are pushing to make the classified pages visible to the public. They state it is especially important for the families who had lost a loved one in the attacks. Reportedly the president had promised the families he would release the documents and has yet to do so.
