U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) once supported President Reagan’s amnesty for illegal aliens back in the 1980’s, but has since stated that he and others made a mistake in doing so, and now support a piece-meal approach to immigration reform, as opposed to a comprehensive approach to fixing the existing immigration problem.
During a brief Q & A with the veteran Senator at the Iowa Freedom Summit in Des Moines, Grassley laid out what he feels first needs to be done in any immigration reform bill, and then talks about what he feel his colleague Senator Ted Cruz is doing for the Republican Party.Beyond what he does in the Senate, he a very clear spokesman in very view words, of the conservative point of view, and most of us Republicans haven’t been, have the capability to the matters clear to the American people , we should. He can do that, and I thank him for doing that, and we ought to encourage him to do it, he’s helping the Republican Party.”-Sen. Chuck Grassley

Earlier in the day, and while sporting a pair of snazzy dark brown Cowboy boots to go with his Obama-like “Tan” suit jacket, Cruz gave an uplifting “Miracle of America” speech that garnered him a long full audience-participated standing ovation.
Iowa Republican State Committeeman Jamie Johnson said that while Texas Governor Rick Perry and Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker gave home run speeches, Cruz gave the only grand slam speech.
Speaking of Governor Walker, I asked him when would be a realistic time to announce a presidential candidacy, prompting Walker to say that it would be “midyear.”When pressed about possibly facing Jeb Bush and Mitt Romney, Walker stated that he was “going to talk about the future, not others.”
Walker is definitely running in 2016.
