Florida Senator Marco Rubio went on the Daily Show as part of a his broad media blitz this week to peddle his new book, “American Dreams.”

Stewart first clowned the state of Florida for banning same-sex marriage, as well as being home to George Zimmerman and countless of nutty criminals, one who was recently arrested for attacking his employees with a lizard.

Stewart them joked about how thirsty he knew Rubio was. Rubio kind of made Stewart’s case, as he was seen taking several sips out of his mug of water.

Rubio came on to snark about Stewart’s comedic take on Florida, telling the host that he was a “candidate for a lizard-beating” for putting out program segment poking fun at Floridians.

Aside from the expected jokes about Rubio’s thirst, Stewart did agree with Rubio’s “wage enhancement” idea that is spelled out in his book.

In the second segment of the show, Rubio defends the Tea Party movement, and addresses Stewart’s assessment that his new policy-laden book is not so right-leaning.

Stewart: For you to become president, aren’t you going to have to move to the right, this book does not strike me as that.

Rubio: I believe that this is taking limited government and free enterprise and applying it to challenges of the twenty-first century.
