House Republicans will vote today on whether or not to keep Rep. John Boehner as Speaker of the House of Representatives. Representatives Louie Gohmert (R-TX) and Ted Yoho (R-FL) have announced that they would oppose Boehner and run for the seat themselves, setting the table for a potentially explosive floor vote that many believe could deepen the rift between the conservative and establishment wings of the Republican caucus in the House of Representatives.
The problem that House conservatives have is that they do not a backbone. While many of the so-called conservative House Republicans complain and quietly oppose Speaker Boehner, non of them, aside from Gohmert and Yoho, have had the stones to band together and oust Boehner, even after he has shown Americans that he would rather compromise with President Obama’s dangerous and un-American agenda.
I have spoken with quite a few of these conservatives, and of those I have spoken to, all of them oppose Boehner. But don’t take my word for it, take the word of Rep. Ted Yoho, who confirms what many know to be true.
