Zemir Begic was a 32-year old Bosnian native who was bludgeoned to death on Sunday allegedly by a group of teenagers who beat him with hammers. He was driving with his fiancee, Arijana Mujanovic and a male passenger ar0und 1:15 am on Sunday in St. Louis. That is when a group of five teenagers began pounding on his car. He confronted them and was repeatedly struck in the face and body with hammers. Later on he died at the hospital.
Officials in St. Louis are saying the beating death of Zemir Begic was not a hate crime but the community begs to differ. As stated in the video below, right before the incident there was a group of black individuals walking down the street yelling “f the white people, kill the white people.”* WARNING: Video contains graphic language

Begic’s older brother had the following to say about him:
He also said:He loved every race . . . He had friends all over the world.
We were all born in Bosnia and we came here in 1996 (referring to him and his other siblings). We came to America thinking it was going to be a better life. Our family and friends were being killed over there.
Even thought the murder happened on Sunday just 20 miles away from Ferguson St. Louis Police Department and Mayor Francis Slay are claiming even though Begic was allegedly killed by black and Latino teenagers and he was white, it was racially motivated.
The President of the Bosnian Chamber of Commerce had this to say in response:
So much so that hundreds have been protesting his death for the last few nights in the neighborhood of Little Bosnia stating “Bosnian lives matter.”Bosnians right now have an impression that this was a hate crime.
The murder suspects are ages 15 through 17. Robert Joseph Mitchell, 17, is being charged as an adult with first-degree and armed criminal action. The other two are in custody and one other suspect is still at large.
