The U.S. Congress has dealt another blow to President Obama’s failed “catch and release” foreign policy, as it has rejected his efforts to shutdown the prison on the military base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
The Congress “finalized the annual defense policy bill,” leaving out the provision(s) that would give Obama the authority to “transfer terror suspects” to prisons in the United States.The final defense bill will not have a provision giving the president the power to transfer terror suspects to the U.S. if Congress signs off on the plan, said Sen. Carl Levin.
“Our language … (on Guantanamo) … will not be in,” Levin said….The House and Senate are expected to vote and overwhelmingly approve the sweeping policy bill in the coming days, sending it to Obama.-AP

Keep in mind that this bill is supported by both Republican and Democrat legislators in the GOP-led House, and Democrat-controlled Senate, who all just how dangerous this move would be.
