Florida will continue being a traditional marriage state for just a little bit longer. U.S. District Judge Robert Hinkle ruled earlier this year that Florida’s ban on gay marriage was unconstitutional, but instead of immediately striking the law down, Hinkle extended the ban until Jan.5, 2015.
Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, who opposes same-sex marriage, has asked the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to let the appeals process play out, and delay the ban past the Jan. 5th date.
