After winning a new term in office, Governor Rick Scott has tapped his former communications director and campaign manager to be his chief of staff.
Melissa Sellers replaces former chief of staff Adam Hollingsworth, who proved himself to be nothing less than an unforced error.
As many of you may recall, Hollingsworth cast a dark cloud over the Executive office when he was caught lying to a previous employer about having received a degree from the University of Alabama.
Then Hollingsworth single-handedly minimized the influence of top GOP pollster and Scott’s 2010 gubernatorial campaign brainiac, Tony Fabrizio, from this year’s election cycle.
And then there was Hollingsworth’s questionable move of refusing to consider now-Lieutenant Governor Carlos Lopez-Cantera for the job back in 2013.
Not only did Hollingsworth not place Lopez-Cantera among the finalists for the job, he nixed Lopez-Cantera from the process all together.
Things are already looking rosy for Scott and his second term as governor.
