Republican congressional nominee Carlos Curbelo called out Democrat Congressman Joe Garcia during their latest national Spanish-language TV debate, asking him to apologize to the viewers and American voters for his apparent hypocrisy regarding his recent political scandals and corruption charges.
Curbelo reminded viewers that just a couple of years ago, Garcia looked into the camera and asked them for their vote, calling then-Congressman David Rivera (R) a corrupt politician, and citing the congressman’s ongoing scandals that Garcia asserts kept him from doing his job in Washington,D.C.Curbelo said that now that Garcia himself has been blanketed with scandals and corruption, that he invites him to look into the camera once again and apologize to the voters of south Florida.
Garcia’s former Chief of Staff and congressional campaign manager, Jeff Garcia, was recently convicted and serve time in jail for absentee ballot voter fraud.

A visibly defiant Garcia said that he doesn’t owe anyone an apology.
The National Republican Congressional Committee, who focused on regaining this congressional seat, put out this statement about Garcia:“You no le debo disculpa a nadie’- Rep. Joe Garcia (D) (Translation: I don’t owe anyone an apology)
“It’s beyond shocking that after embarrassing South Florida with not one, but two criminal investigations surrounding his campaigns, Joe Garcia would say he doesn’t owe anyone an apology. Garcia’s corruption has turned his first term in Congress into a sideshow. The least Garcia could do is apologize to voters for his embarrassing and poorly executed crimes.” – Katie Prill, NRCC Spokeswoman
