Democrat Charlie Crist must really be desperate if he thinks that regurgitating Rick Scott’s Columbia/HCA past is an “October surprise.”
Crist is parading around 52-year-old John Schillinger, a former Columbia/HCA accountant, who is retelling his 2010 story that he believes Rick Scott is a criminal.
“The facts are, Rick Scott was the leader of a criminal enterprise and now he’s running Florida.” John Schilling,Tallahassee news conference organized by Democrat Charlie Crist’s campaign.
We have heard this all before.
Schilling disputed Scott’s stance. A “hands-on” CEO like Scott certainly knew of the bookkeeping coverups, kickbacks to doctors and “upcoding” of hospital admissions and lab tests designed to boost profits that were central to Columbia/HCA’s operations, Schilling said.

By having to revert to this kind of negative campaigning, it is obvious that Crist’s positive, non-substantive, and newly-found policy positions, have not resonated with Floridians.
Scott will most likely continue countering Crist negative ads by outlining the former Republican-turned-Independent-turned-Democrat’s numerous policy flip-flops, as well as the dismal economic state he left Florida in.
