That is how the Sun-Sentinel started off their story about the debate that took place this week between Drug Free Florida and United for Care at Broward College in Pembroke Pines.“It was part marijuana debate and part voter-registration drive, with a distinctly Democratic tilt.”
First of all, I would like to apologize to the two sound-check guys who were standing next to me. If I was snoring, please accept my apologies.
The event was so boring that I was falling in and out of sleep for the first 45 minutes, and the 20 or so students that were escorted in by a teacher, all got up and left because the program was poorly orchestrated by the Democrats who put it together.
Let me be very clear. This was a Democrat Party event.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
The school’s attorney who introduced the debate moderator state Senator Eleanor Sobel (D), was a Democrat, and obviously Sobel is as well.
Sobel told me that she was in favor of legalizing medical marijuana, so I expected her to lean to the left during the debate. She didn’t, and did a great job as the moderator.
The audience of about 40 (not 140), including the panel and Sobel, were then treated to an address from Broward County’s Supervisor of Elections Brenda Snipes(D), who was followed by two Democrat party lawyer Jason Blank and Anthony Quackenbush.
The students started to get up midway through Blank and Quackenbush’s presentation. These to guys were so boring and disinteresting that they had to cut their voter drive skit short.
Finally we got to the debate, but not until Sobel announced that her staff had brought some brownies to the event. No, not those kind of brownies, but the ones that Little Debbie makes.
And no, I am not referring to Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D) either. Oh, and just so you know, Wasserman Schultz does not support the legalization of pot.
The line of the day came from Democrat fundraiser and consultant, Ben Pollara of United for Care, when he joked about the people leaving the debate early.
“I’d like to thank the people who are still here…This may be one of those deals where they tell you you’re going to get a free cruise and you have to listen to a time-share thing first.”-Ben Pollara
Wait, I almost forgot the jab Pollara took at Correoso.
While both Correoso and Pollara held their own, and made very good cases for their causes, the sentiment and support for medical marijuana from the audience seemed to be more inline with Correoso’s assertion that this amendment was just a “flat-out attempt to legalize pot use in Florida.”He worked with David Rivera and didn’t get indicted so he is probably a good guy, unfortunately everything he told you was absolutely wrong.-Ben Pollara
In other words, the audience just wants to light up.
Pollara states that the medical marijuana amendment Floridians will be voting on in November is strictly “about getting medical relief to sick Floridians, period, and end of story.”
Correoso pointed that the amendment had numerous loop-holes, loop-holes thought could not be addressed if the amendment passed.
During the Q & A portion of the program, a couple of the pro-pot activists came across as having smoked to much of their cause over the years, especially the bearded Matthew Grande.
I will bet you that if you legalized marijuana and only allowed the non-euphoric, oil or vapor form of pot to be dispensed, most of those pro-pot aficionados and supporters would pitch a fit.
After all, if the true motivation to legalize marijuana really is for medicinal purposes, than no one should take issue if the state of Florida outlaws the smoking of the cannibis for medicinal purposes, right?
Meanwhile, the nice ladies and gentleman from the Plantation Democrat party were outside pushing Charlie Crist and their Democrat agenda, as they registered people to vote.
As I was inhaling two slices of free pizza, I took some time to talk to my new amigos in the Democrat party.
I can say that in speaking to these ladies about the governor’s race, and while they do not like Rick Scott (hate him), I got the impression that they were not too fond of Crest, but were holding their noses and supporting him anyways.
