It seems as if the Republican Party will squander yet another golden opportunity to pick up a very winnable congressional seat in Florida.
The seat currently held by Democrat Congressman Patrick Murphy, who replaced Congressman Allen West (R), leans Republican, but a recent internal poll conducted and released by the Murphy campaign, the freshman congressman bested Republican congressional nominee Carl Domino by 21 points. The poll is said to have surveyed a “Republican-heavy” group of voters.
There lies the problem for the GOP.
While Murphy comes off as more youthful and middle-of-the-road, Republicans nominated a long-time state Legislator and typical 50-60-something candidate that is the antisist of what the Republican Party should be striving to prop up as a viable candidate.
The GOP has failed to identity and escoriate Murphy for being one of those phoney-baloney “moderate” Republicans.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Actually, to Murphy’s defense, he used to be a donating Republican, and has voted somewhat right of his party lines.
But that arguement is easy to blow up, as Murphy has to legislate from the middle, after all, the district is mostly made up of Republican and Independents.
Can Domino beat Murphy? Who knows?I can see say this much. The Republican primary race Domino just won really sucked. It will be interested to see what kind of general election campaign Domino decides to run.
There was no excitement, nor was there any projection confidence by any of the five Republican candidates.
Paging Allen West…
