Appearing on Newsmax TV’s America’s Forum Javier Manjarres along side Ellis Henican, from Newsday discussed Senator Rubio’s recent letter to President Obama regarding immigration. In that letter, Marco asked the president not to take unilateral action through executive order and instead allow for the legislature to be able to make progress on this issue.
Henican, a left of center reporter with Newsday was ecstatic at the opportunity for Obama to take action on immigration, perhaps because the president has done so little in this regard. Henican explains, “he’s the president. He aught to do something…and we’ll go fight it out in court”

Manjarres, who has enjoyed a close relationship with Rubio since long before his election to the US Senate, offered an insightful explanation of the situation.
“This could be exactly what Marco Rubio needs” Manjarres explains, because unilateral action by the president could provide cover for Rubio to get past the debacle of his cosponsoring of the gang of 8 legislation.
Manjarres explains that legislation in his opinion was, “nothing less than amnesty for illegal immigrants”.In 2013, Rubio was hailed as the ‘Republican Savior”, gracing the cover of Time Magazine and giving a highly publicized response to the President’s State of the Union Address. After the 2012 disastrous losses sustained by the GOP, Rubio was well poised to carry the party banner into the 2016 election – and eventually on to the White House.
That was, until his support for the immigration bill. The bill provided defacto amnesty for illegal aliens and caused an uproar within republican circles. Rubio fell from top of presidential polling for 2016 to 10th place within a year.
This according to Manjarres has caused Rubio to backpedal on this issue.
