U.S. Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) told WOKV news this week that the Obama Administration should start sending illegal immigrant children back to their home countries. DeStantis also said there doesn’t need to be any additional funding for the current immigration laws to be enforced.
DeSantis says the United States can take from the over $1 billion in yearly aid to Mexico since “they have not been helpful with this.”
“Any money we need should come from that or from the money that we’re already sending to these Central American countries.”
DeSantis says President Obama needs to send a clear message that Central American families should not be sending their kids up to the United States, and the best way to do that is to send them back home.
Rep. DeSantis also said he believes the border can be secured if President Obama really wanted to, but that the President chooses not to.
DeSantis is skeptical of the President’s request for $3.7 billion to deal with the crisis, saying that almost 95% of the requested funds will not be directed to secure the border..
