It was little surprise to anyone in the Press that former Florida Governor Charlie Crist has named Miami-Dade Democrat Party Chairwoman Annette Tadeo to be his running mate in this year’s gubernatorial contest against Republican Governor Rick Scott.
During a press conference at a local business incubator outfit, LabMiami, Crist was short in his remarks to the press about his “proud” Lieutenant Governor choice, giving Tadeo most of the time to read from a prepared statement, of her acceptance of the nod to be Crist’s choice as LG.During the Q&A segment of the press conference, Crist was asked if picking Tadeo would help him regain support among the Hispanic community, considering that he has lost significant ground among Cuban-Americans because he supports lifting the U.S embargo against Cuba.
Crist said that “it couldn’t help,” and believes its a “huge asset to the ticket.”

Tadeo asserted that the U.S. foreign policy with Cuba was broken and needed to be addressed. In other words, Tadeo has doubled down on Crist’s position to lift the embargo.
When asked about his “Chain gang Charlie moniker,” Crist says that he believes in forgiveness, and that as Governor of Florida, he “brought about” automatic restoration of rights to “former non-violent felons.”
“It makes God happy when you forgive”-Charlie CristFlorida State Senator Anitere Flores (R) showed up to the Crist’s event to offer a rebuttal, saying that Crist had a chance to fix the state’s problems, but instead chose to bail on his party and Floridians for “his own political ambitions.”
