Florida Governor Rick Scott saw the 18th state execution under his watch come and go on Wednesday. The state delivered the much deserved lethal injection to John Ruthell Henry, 63, for the 1985 double-murder of his wife and her child.
John Ruthell Henry, 63, was pronounced dead at 7:43 p.m. after receiving a lethal injection for the stabbing death of Suzanne Henry in Pasco County. He also was convicted in Hillsborough County of stabbing her 5-year-old son, Eugene Christian, near Plant City, hours after the woman’s murder. The U.S. Supreme Court and a federal appeals court refused last-ditch efforts by Henry’s lawyers to block the execution. In recent months, Henry’s attorneys have questioned whether his client was mentally stable enough to comprehend his death sentence. But the high court rejected that appeal.-TBO
Unlike Georgia and Missouri, who also carried out their own executions within the past 24 hours, and use who use the single drug pentobarbital, “Florida uses a three-drug combination of midazolam hydrochloride, vecuronium bromide and potassium chloride.”
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
States have been pressed over the years to use the “more humane” lethal injection, instead of the old electric chair.
Considering that most of the inmates on Death Row are for committing heinous crimes against humanity, maybe bringing back “Sparky” is not such a bad idea?
