Freshman Congressman Ron DeSantis (R-FL),who also serves in the U.S. Navy Reserves, has been one of the sharpest critics of President Obama’s highly controversial terrorist swap for likely U.S. Army deserter, Bowe Bergdahl.
DeSantis has served at the military base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and had to deal with these enemy combatants( Terrorists) first hand.“I just don’t see how you can say it’s good for national security,” DeSantis tells WOKV in an exclusive interview.
DeSantis served at Guantanamo Bay while he was in active duty in the Navy during the Bush Administration. He says the five prisoners just released are “very high-level and skilled Taliban commanders.”
“They are ruthless,” he says. “They are dedicated to the cause of Islamic Jihad. The probability that they return to waging Jihad, I think, is very very high.”-WOKV

DeSantis joins a chorus of other prominent Republican leglislators, including Senator Marco Rubio, in questioning the motives behind the “prisoner exchange,” and have called for a deeper investigation into the entire negotiation process that Obama kept from the U.S. Congress.
