Senator Marco Rubio scored a huge win for himself when the U.S. Senate passed a Veteran’s Reform bill by a margin of 93-3, using language from his VA Management and Accountability Act that Democrats blocked on the floor of the Senate last month.
Rubio was the first, if not one of the first to sound the alarm about the lacking healthcare treatment veterans were receiving across the country, in particularly in Florida. Rubio teamed up with Florida Congressman Jeff Miller (R) to introduce the VA reform bill in their respective chambers of Congress.
“The one I am proudest of, the whole bill is important, but the one I’ve been working on personally, the one that we’ve been engaged in making this happen, is accountability. Giving the Secretary the power to hire and to fire those mid-level bureaucrats that are not doing their job. That’s an important measure, I’m glad it’s included in this.”-Senator Marco Rubio
